1 Learn the concept
Content pillars are the main types of content you will create for a channel. They keep your posting focused, give your audience a reason to follow you and make it easier to plan. Without pillars, businesses post randomly and struggle to know what to share. This lesson explains what pillars are, how to choose them and how to balance them across a month.
2 See it in action
- Pillars are broad themes, such as education, behind the scenes, customer stories and offers.
- Choose three to five pillars that serve your audience and your goals.
- Balance them: most content should help, not sell.
- Review results and adjust pillars over time.
Worked example
Turning pillars into a week of posts
Monday: baking tip (education).
Tuesday: new product photo (offer).
Thursday: behind-the-scenes video (personality).
Saturday: customer photo with a thank-you (community).
Result to look for: you never have to ask "what do we post today?", and no more than one post in four is a direct sales message.
3 Study an example
Example scenario
A bakery chooses four pillars: new products, behind the scenes, baking tips and customer photos. Each week it posts from each pillar, so the page never feels like a constant advertisement.
