From the lesson Writing Posts
Work through each step on paper or on screen. Use a real business, a project of your own or a friend’s idea. Keep this page for your portfolio.
1Choose a topic and write a brief.
2Draft an outline.
3Write and edit a post.
Worked example to compare with: Writing the introduction
- Weak: "Coffee is one of the most popular drinks in the world."
- Strong: "Stale coffee ruins a good morning. Here are four ways to keep beans fresh for weeks."
- Why: the strong one names the problem and promises the answer.
- Check: delete your first paragraph. If the post still works, the first paragraph was not needed.
Check yourself
- I can explain "Writing Posts" in one sentence.
- I used a real business or project, not just an idea.
- I know what I will do next, and by when.
